Landmass Technology has rebranded to Opteon in July 2017
In 2015, Landmass Technology was acquired by Opteon, and in July 2017, the specialist rating and taxing valuation provider rebranded to ‘Opteon’.
Opteon, together with local authorities, now provides rating valuations on all types of property across New Zealand. These rateable values (RVs) are used to apportion the total rates levied by local authorities (city or district councils) across all properties in the region.
Led by Garth Laing, General Manager Government Services – located in the Takapuna (Auckland) office, and Mark Grinlinton, Manager of Rating and Taxing Services – located in Tauranga, the local Opteon team have been involved in property valuation since mid-1980, providing specialist advice to councils and government agencies.
The business has evolved from a small company to be the leading provider of rating and taxing consultancy advice with contracts as the Valuation Service Provider to eight Councils across a broad range of districts in New Zealand.
