The purpose of the role is to provide dynamic leadership and management of the payroll function and team. The key responsibilities for this role are to ensure all Payroll functionality is managed and delivered in accordance with agreed timeframes and standards and in compliance with relevant tax, employment and related legislation.
Key Responsibility Area's
Lead the BAU functions of payroll ensuring that Opteon's people are paid on time and accurately based on HCM records and in compliance with all relevant regulatory and financial obligations.
Lead delivery of Opteon's incentive schemes including calculation and timely payment
Deliver professional and customer service focussed responses to employee payroll queries
Work proactively with the Finance team to ensure payroll related transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled in the payroll system
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of payroll related data to key stakeholders
Provide timely and accurate responses to auditor and relevant tax/payroll authority queries
Payroll subject matter expert:
with respect to payroll system selection, implementation, maintenance and upgrades
on M&A transactions including ensuring all agreed due diligence and integration timeframes are met
Support, develop and mentor direct reports across all locations to build consistent delivery processes and standards
Ensure outsource payroll resource is delivering quality service in line with SLA's and escalate any issues as appropriate
Lead and promote a strong internal service culture within the Payroll department, ensuring a service delivery approach that is responsive to the operational and strategic needs of the organisation
Foster a positive and productive relationship with internal and external stakeholders
Foster a culture of professional development, leadership and continuous improvement
Lead and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within payroll
The successful candidate will be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
5+ years' experience in a key payroll leadership role or similar with demonstrated ability to facilitate a full Payroll service for a medium to large sized business (500+ employees).
Tertiary qualification or Post graduate qualification in a business, finance, accounting or related discipline is desirable.
High degree of computer proficiency using Microsoft suite of products in particular Excel, Word and Outlook.
Understanding of Awards/Fair Work Act and payroll/superannuation related legislation
